I Lava You card

Hey there, my artsy friends! Thanks for stopping by to see my Design Team card for Shopping Our Stash Challenge #312 You Light Up My Life – use an image with a Light Bulb – lantern, lamp, flashlight, etc!

SOS#312 I Lava You

Have you tried the Watercolor Crayons from Recollections from Michaels???? They are unbelievable! They are awesome! They are so easy to use! They are super shimmery!

SOS#312 I lava You crayons

You HAVE to try them! To get this super vibrant look, I scribbled on watercolor paper and then buffed it with a dry paper towel! I didn’t even use water for this background! I cannot say enough nice things about these crayons! You must go out, right this second, and buy them!! You won’t be disappointed! (The other good way to use them is with a damp baby wipe or damp paint brush. Too much water takes away the color so be mindful of that!)

Now, I hope you join us on this challenge! I can’t wait to see what you create!

I’m linking this up at Paper Craft Crew Challenge #251 New To You since I finally got a chance to play with these crayons that I bought months ago and at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog Challenge #67 Somewhere Over The Rainbow since this Stampin’ Up stamp called “Crazy Mixed Up Love” is from a destash sale two or three years ago when a rep was selling retired products!

  1. Such a cute, bright card! I adore the tie-dye effect you achieved with those crayons! (I bought those for my daughters so they would stay out of my Distress crayons, but I have to agree: these are so smooth and shimmery– so fun to scribble with!)

  2. i was just going to ask if those cool crayons are like gelatos or distress crayons, lol! clearly i am not the only one with that thought! but the main point is: WHAT AN AWESOME CARD… especially that background, you’re soooooo totally ROCKED this! ❤

    • These are different than Distress Crayons and gelatos but they are very much the same! Hard to explain! They do work on dark paper and are shimmery! But the work better if you buff them since a brush lifts a little too much color for my tastes! These are a blast to play with! Thanks for the love!!

I’ve never come across watercolour crayons before but they look as thought they have a lot to offer a papercrafter as this background is fabulous. Thanks so much for joining us at Retro Rubber for our rainbow challenge.

Cyndi, I’ve heard of water color crayons but never tried them, I love the ones you used, the shimmer is perfectly visible and fabulous.
Love the Lava Lamp, brought back memories of my teen years back in the 60’s.
I will definitely go out and look for the crayons, I love the fact you don’t need water to get this amazing color blending.
Thank you for sharing with us at RETRO RUBBER, hope you play again with us, SOS teammate.
    Hugs,
    Maria.
